The coat rack is pretty and it is sturdy. We thought about getting a metal one, but thought a wooden rack would be more natural and this one surely is. It was very easy to install, and we are able to keep anywhere between 4 to 6 coats on it at all times. We are thinking about buying a second one. It is certainly worth the money.

This coat hanger needs be assembled, which should be straightforward, but in my case was impossible. It came without assembly instructions, and the parts were shipped loosely in a ragged old cardboard box instead of the professional packaging one might have expected. This made me think it was a return that was just being shipped out again to frustrate another poor sucker. Despite the lack of instructions it was not too difficult to figure out what went where and I would have had it assembled easily except that one part did not fit. It has three feet that fit into slots cut into the bottom of the central column. In my case one of those slots was not machined correctly and none of the feet would fit into it. Did someone previously return it for this very reason, I wonder. I had to gently chisel out the offending slot and lubricate the relevant parts with candle wax in order to fit them together. Even then the slot cracked at the first attempt and I had to glue it back together. In the end it looked quite nice, and it works OK, but there's no escaping the fact that they sold me a shoddy product for full price. I am not impressed.

This is a good product for the money. It's heavy and feels well made. It did fall over once, but I think that was due to there being too much weight hanging on one side and it's sitting on carpet. Overall, I am very pleased with this purchase.
