We were really impressed with this coat rack at first. The design is nice with the spinning top and a good number of pegs to hang coats from. But in less than 9 months all three legs were splitting away from the rack, pretty much turning it into so much scrap wood. If you hang a couple light jackets and hats on it you'll be fine. But with just a couple coats hanging on it (and Texas winter coats aren't particularly heavy) this coat rack was pushed beyond its limits.

This coat rack arrived on time and when I took it out of the box it was terrific. All the pieces had the screws pre-done so all I had to do was put the pieces together by matching the parts and just screwing them in. No tools required. That is what I loved about this product..NO TOOLS REQUIRED. Also, the piece is a fantastic oak wood color and solid. It matches my wood floor perfect. This is a must have item and the price is fantastic.

The rack looks attractive and was a cinch to assemble. It has more pegs than most other racks, especially in the under-$100 range. It is sturdy. I tried hanging all my heavy coats on one side and it didn't tip. The package arrived promptly, within 48 hours even though I didn't pay for expedited shipping. The color is dark and rich. Although it is not cherry, it blends in beautifully with my cherry furniture. With so many facets in the wood and the shininess of the finish, you see tons of different tones anyway when you look at it.I only gave it 4 stars because (1) it shipped with a wrong peg (I got one more of one peg type and one less of another, so I just screwed the extra peg into the missing peg's hole. If you look very closely, you can tell that one-of-these-pegs-is-not-like-the-others, but so far I've shown it to two people who couldn't find the oddity in <5 minutes (2) there are termite lines in the wood, causing me to stick the box in the deep freeze for 24 hours to make sure I killed any bugs. To be fair, the termite lines are painted and stained, so I don't think there is likely an active colony, but who wants to take the chance?Overall, the coat rack is better than most I've had in my life, is sturdy, feels very solid and looks good. All the wood turning and knobs give it a very stylish, if a little old-fashioned, look. The company might have some minor quality control issues (counting pegs properly, checking their wood for insects), but none of these flaws really affects the rack. The reviews for similarly priced products on Amazon talked about how tippy or lightweight the racks were, or the racks looked simple and modern, with too few pegs. This one is solid and has lots of pegs. I'm thinking of buying another for the office.
